Our beautiful and spacious house is situated on the east bank of the Ping River, within ten minutes's drive from the center of Chiang Mai.  

Our guest house is the perfect getaway for a quiet retreat, seclusion, vacation, or a honeymoon. The house is a two-story with four bedrooms plus common lounges with seating and TV, three large terrace decks, and a lovely garden overlooking the river .

Sarah Guest House was established in 1988 and is recommended in such guide books as - The Rough Guide, Footprint, Lonely Planet, Frommer's, Let's Go and many other guidebooks.

Sarah Guest House has been open since 1988, operating from the same location and run by the same owner/manager. At least 50% of  our guests are repeat visitors or recommended by friends.  

We are situated in a quiet location in the centre of Chiang Mai, a 5 minute walk from the Night Bazaar and Tapae Gate. Our central location means that all the main attractions in the town are within walking distance. However it is located in a small lane off the main road so that even though it's in the middle of town, it is quiet and peaceful. Map & Location

The guesthouse provides clean & safe accommodation for the budget traveller. We have fan rooms for US6/night and A/C rooms for US$10/night. We are in one of the best locations in Chiang Mai. There is also an information service for trekking and touring in the North of Thailand. We have all kinds of day tours, a variety of treks, as well as Thai cookery courses.

The International airport, railway station and bus depots are all within 15 minute TukTuk or Song Thaews (local taxis) ride and thy are easily hailed from the Guest House.

What is a guesthouse?

Our guesthouse accommodation is like a budget hotel or hostel or bed and breakfast. While we do have staff in the building at all times we do not have a night service or room service but you can help yourself to drinks when the bar and restaurant are closed. Also we are very secure here and all guests have keys for access all day and night. Here at "The Garden" we aim to provide a home from home. Our accommodation is much more personal than a hotel.
